Trip Advisor Comment 3 May 2010. The best place I've ever stayed - My wife and I decided to go to Port Douglas for our honeymoon. After considering a lot of places to stay we narrowed it down to 2 for value for money. We then decided that we wanted to be close to the main street for the restaurants, nightlife and the beach. So it was decided that Regal was the place to be. We chose the 1 bedroom self contained apartment with Jacuzzi on the balcony, which ended up being bigger than the picture showed so we were really impressed. The apartment had everything we needed for stay at home meals but with such a great selection of restaurants being so close we ate out all the time. Still it was nice to have it for those breakfasts before we went out on tours. The Jacuzzi was huge and warm if we wanted it with different types of jets for whatever massage we wanted. The best thing we found about staying at the Regal was the service. When we got there they couldn't wait to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. They were warm and very friendly people who have an excellent knowledge of the area and their advice was spot on. We were able to book all our adventures through them and took their advice on everything and I can safely say we would have had only half the holiday if we planned it ourselves. We will be back!! Thank you soooo much!!

Trip Advisor Comment 21 April 2010. Perfect Port Douglas Holiday - Great Value - Stayed here for 4 nights while on honeymoon in TNQ for two weeks. Bob and Cheryl are gems! very friendly and easy to talk to and very helpful. The room was spotless upon arrival, we stayed in the one bedroom private rooftop courtyard with private jacuzzi and the jacuzzi was on and bubblying ready for us on arrival. The pool was lovely and perfect after a day of sight seeing. The location was great and easy walk to dinner and shops

Trip Advisor Comment 2 Apil 2010. So good, and in the centre of town - We stayed for a week in a one bedroom apartment at the end of March. The first floor apartment was really clean and spacious with a large balcony. The ensuite bathroom was large with a shower/spa-bath combination. There's no lift but Bob took our cases to the room while Cheryl checked us in. During our stay, I needed to have a courier pick up a package whilst we were out, which was no trouble at all to Cheryl. It was quiet in spite of being right in the town centre. The pool was really good, having a really easy entry for my wife who can't bend her knees so well these days.

Trip Advisor Comment 22 March 2010. Location, Atmosphere, Simplicity, Pool and Friendliness - My wife and 2 year old daughter and I have just stayed at the Regal in Port Douglas for 8 nights and I can highly recommend it as a wonderful resort to stay. Close to the shops, the beach and the marina the location was fantastic. The managers couldn't help you more and the rooms were wonderful. Everything you need to make a holiday simple... especially as we have a 2 year old child to entertain. I could keep up to date with my work emails using their free internet and computer. Having a large garage our hire car was always accessible and most importantly safe and secure. If anyone wants to eat at a great restaurant then Bucci is just around the corner on Macrossan St and for a more special meal try Harrisons on Wharf St. Leaving the best till last, the poll area was brilliant for both adults and children and not too small that it was crowded but not too big that it was unsafe. All in all we had a a wonderful stay. thank you to all those thre that made our stay so wonderful.

Trip Advisor comment dated 11 March 2010. EXCELLENT APARTMENT EXCELLENT VALUE - Oringinally stayed at Regal in 2003 and although have been back to Port Douglas several times since have tried other accommodation with mixed success. Based on recent Trip Advisor reviews decided to revisit Regal and we are pleased we did. The current managers are very friendly and accommodating. We arrived early but were shown straight to our room with our luggage taken on our behalf without us requesting assistance. oUr roomhas a large jacuzzi on a good sized balcony and had already been "warmed" in readiness for our arrival. The room was a separate bedroom with a large ensuite containing an excellent shower. Two three seater very comfortable sofas and a flat screen TV with a few satellite channels and DVD player. Also 4 seater glass top table. Regal is centrally located being close to many restaurants, hotels, shops and a short walk to the beautiful 4 mile beach. We love Port Douglas ans shall continue to return and would not hesitate to use Regal again. Oh and don't be put off by visiting in January. This is our 7th visit in 11years in January and not once have we had more than short bursts of rain. We were from 12th to 16th Jan this year and had beautiful sunny days with only a little cloud and NO RAIN despite what the weather reports emanating from Brisbane were predicting.

Trip Advisor Review dated 17 January 2010. We stayed at the Regal for 12 nights and had a two bedroom ground floor apartment which included two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one with a spa bath) large living area and a jacuzzi on the balcony. The jacuzzi was preheated for our arrival and was a nice way to be welcomed after a long flight travelling with 3 children. The apartment was clean and spacious enough to accomodate 5 people and with two seperate bedrooms (each with king sized beds) and two Tv's dvd palyers and bar fridges, the kids could have their own space and the adults could do their thing. We dined in most days and givien the proximity to restaraunts, shops, beach and marina, only needed to hire a car for a limited number of days (to travel to Mossman Gorge, Daintree, Hartleys Croc Farm and Habitat Sanctuary). Otherwise no car was needed for the bulk of our stay in Port Douglas. Staff were friendly and willing to assist, and the building seemed to be secure, clean and tidy with nice gardens and pool area. We will be happy to use these apartments again when heading to Port Douglas.
