Regal Port Douglas COVID-19 Policy

At Regal Port Douglas, the importance of guest and staff health is our priority so that you can book with confidence. We have been closely monitoring the world events surrounding COVID-19 and have implemented an even higher standard of cleaning to the already vigorous cleaning regime for which we are renowned.

These measures have been adopted in accordance with the advice given by WHO, Safe Work Australia and the Australian Government Department of Health. All our staff have completed Infection Control Training – COVID-19 via the Australian Government Department of Health.

In addition to our standard room cleaning procedures, specific areas of focus in each apartment includes the sanitisation of:

  • Wall and lamp light switches
  • All remotes
  • All handles including iron, electric jug, kitchen, windows and internal doors
  • Coat hangers
  • Commonly touched areas on doors and walls
  • Keys
The cleaning of common areas continues with extra focus on frequently touched areas such as handrails, door handles and outdoor furniture. Hand sanitiser will be available in several locations throughout the common areas.

We ask that no more than two persons enter the reception office so that social distancing measures may be observed. Contactless check-in can also be arranged given prior notice - please call reception during office hours.

Sun lounges and dining furniture will be removed or rearranged in the pool area to maintain social distancing requirements.

Should a guest develop symptoms such as cough, sore throat, tiredness or shortness of breath, we ask that the guest stay in the apartment and call reception to arrange for medical assistance. If self-isolation is required that extends beyond the original reservation, discounted rates may be offered to ease financial burden.
